Once Upon a Stage! A Musical Theatre Mini-Show

Grades 1–3

Once Upon a Stage is a joyful musical theatre mini-show for students in Grades 1–3 that builds foundational performance skills through storytelling, song, and movement. Students learn how a show comes together from start to finish, including performing group numbers, sharing “spotlight” moments, and exploring solos and speaking lines!

Along the way, children develop foundational theatre skills such as following stage directions, learning choreography, working as an ensemble, and expressing emotion through performance. In a warm, supportive environment, students build confidence using their voice and body.

This mini show will consist of a few musical numbers, including an opening, a closing, and some speaking lines to tie the story together. 

The classes culminate in a short performance for families at Art House Productions, giving students the thrill of performing on a professional stage.

Rehearsal Dates: 3/14, 3/21, 3/28, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16

Tech Date and Time: 5/17 | 9:00am - 12:30 pm 

Show Date and Time: 5/17 | 2:30 pm AND 7 pm
